About us

Our mission is to preserve the privacy, dignity, safety, and independence of caregivers and older adults, as well as people with functional diversity and/or reduced mobility

Steve Powell,        Fundador y CEO

"Both of my parents struggled with falls. My mother fell so many times that we lost count years ago. My father, in the final stage of his life, suffered from diabetes, obesity, kidney failure, and dementia caused by mini-strokes. His knees were in bad shape, he lost his balance, and he would fall. For many years he would get up and fall again. During the last two years of his life, he could not get up without someone’s help. He would wake up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom and would fall almost immediately. He couldn’t get up on his own, and because of his size, it was very difficult to lift him.

The unsuccessful search for a solution to help my family led me to invent a tool to help people get up from the floor after a fall. I founded IndeeLift for them.

In my free time, I love playing the guitar and going sailing."

Esther Costabella, Business Development Manager

"I have a degree in Business Administration and Management and a degree in Marketing, with more than 20 years of experience helping companies in the healthcare sector with B2B business development and the creation of new business lines.

Ever since my father became a business owner (what would now be called an entrepreneur), I have been passionate about the world of business, the marketing of products and services, and above all sales and connecting with people.

IndeeLift allows me to align my passions in both my professional and personal life. Helping to solve problems and improve the lives of the most vulnerable gives real meaning to my work and fills me with satisfaction.

I love singing, traveling, and spending time with my family and friends."

Sergi Peña, Regulatory Compliance Manager & Quality Engineer

"Ever since childhood, electronics have been a passion. There was a great sense of pride in being able to help friends and family set up their electronic devices and, when they broke, taking them apart to explore what was inside.

For more than 10 years, it has been possible to gain in-depth knowledge of PCB assembly for the automotive and consumer sectors, facing challenges such as the rapid evolution of electronic components, especially in their size and new IoT functionalities.

At IndeeLift, there is pride in working to ensure a simple, functional, and safe product that helps people with mobility challenges remain self-sufficient and enables caregivers to work comfortably and without any risk."

Founded in the United States by Steve Powell in 2014, the company has been headquartered in Barcelona (Spain) since 2020, where the FTS-400 model (certified as a Medical Device) is manufactured for distribution throughout Spain and the rest of Europe.

Joan-Enric Torra i Bou, clinical advisor

"I consider myself an entrepreneur passionate about Nursing, Patient Safety, and Advanced Wound Care. I have been working in the field of wounds for more than 30 years from different perspectives: clinical practice, management, research, training, university, and industry.

I am currently focusing my work on excellence in wound care, patient safety, consulting, innovation, research, health economics, and teaching at undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels. I am also an adjunct professor in the nursing degree program (Igualada) at the Facultat d'Infermeria i Fisioteràpia of the Universitat de Lleida and co-director of several doctoral theses related to wounds and other related topics.

And as a mountaineering enthusiast, and paraphrasing Kilian Jornet, “what is difficult is achieved, what is impossible is attempted.”

Rosario Santa María, Communications Director

"With a degree in Journalism and Humanities from Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona, I have been working in communications for more than ten years. I currently combine my work at IndeeLift with serving as communications director at a film production company. I also collaborate as a journalist at Ràdio Estel.

I am passionate about teaching, which is why I am a university professor in the Communication program at the Open University of Catalonia and offer personalized communication training, whether to help clients improve their communication on social media or to speak in public more effectively.

At the moment, I am training as a coach to help other people find their professional purpose and overcome being laid off.

When I am not working, I am probably taking a course, singing, playing volleyball or padel and, of course, traveling and spending time with my family and friends."
